SFB are delighted to donate £400 to The Bridge Homelessness To Hope.
Our very own Asha, who is based from our Leicester office, volunteers with this organisation who are now in their 15th year of helping the homeless in Leicester. Through their Day Centre they provide in excess of 18,000 meals a year and provide warm clothing and sleeping bags to those in need. They also have a mentoring project and an extensive range of ‘recreational arts as art therapy’ groups, including a music group who play at various events.
The Bridge Homelessness to Hope is based in an area of Leicester that suffers from the highest levels of poverty and their guests are among the most marginalised people in the city. Those that visit them often have other complex issues in addition to, or as a direct result, of being homeless.
Being homeless doesn’t mean you have to be living on the street. The Bridge Homelessness To Hope also support those in need that may be sleeping on a friend’s sofa, staying in a hostel, or living in overcrowded or unsuitable accommodation.
They believe in long-lasting change. Where the people are treated as individuals with specific needs and not just a problem to be passed through the system.
If you would like to support The Bridge Homelessness To Hope and help the people who are homeless, whether that be by donating clothing, food, toiletries, fundraising or volunteering, further information can be found on https://www.bridgeleicester.org/support-us.
