SFB Group are delighted to donate £400 to The Coventry Children’s Boot Fund.
The Coventry Children’s Boot Fund was founded in 1893, when the backstreets of Coventry, like other industrial cities, were packed with youngsters wearing rudimentary footwear or no shoes at all.
Through two world wars, the depression of the thirties, and the ups and downs of 20th and 21st century, including todays soaring living costs, some children are still attending school wearing ill fitting, worn out shoes, and even shoes that leak in the winter period, because the parents cannot afford to replace them. That’s when you realise that The Coventry Children’s Boot Fund is as relevant today as it was more than 125 years ago.
They are still providing free shoes to around 500 low income families every year to ensure that the school children of Coventry and its surrounding area have suitable shoes to wear to school.
