To support businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, the government have asked the local authorities to administer a range of cash grant payments to small businesses and also to those businesses in the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors. The brief qualifying conditions for the grants are below.
Small Business Grant Fund
- Qualifying Businesses – Businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or less, already in receipt of Small Business Rate Relief or the Rural Rate Relief Scheme.
- Amount of grant – £10,000
Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Business Grants Fund
This grant is available to those businesses which qualify for the Expanded Retail Discount Scheme, with a rateable value below £51,000, and as such have had their Business Rates bills reduced to zero for the financial year 2020/2021.
Amount of grant:
- £10,000 for properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or less;
- £25,000 for properties with a rateable value of more than £15,000 but less than £51,000
